U Beauty Review
I first heard of U Beauty when it started getting some hyper on social media last year. I was a little hesitant to try it because of the price but when the brand reached out to see if I’d like to try a few products, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity! U Beauty sent me two products to try: The Resurfacing Compound and the Super Hydrator. In the few months that I’ve incorporated them into my routine, they have really transformed by skin and I can firmly say, I will be purchasing them again once my bottles are out. If you’ve been considering trying their products, I’ve put together a full U Beauty review to help you learn more about the products, and my experience with them!
About the Brand
Founded in 2019 by Tina Craig, U Beauty is a science-based skincare brand designed to optimize your skincare routine (and keep your skincare steps to a minimum) and minimize environmental impact. She wanted to make skincare less complicated while still providing the best ingredients for transforming your skin. She started by launching the Resurfacing Compound, followed by the Super Hydrator a year later.
Since it’s inception, U Beauty now has over ten products for use on your face and body.
The Science Behind U Beauty
The goal of U Beauty products is to eliminate so many skincare routine steps. U Beauty has a proprietary patent pending SIREN Capsule Technology, which safely packs active ingredients (vitamin C, AHAs, retinol, etc.) into small molecules that neutralize free radicals. So even though what is in the SIREN can vary, the capsule still interacts with the skin in the same way. It feels a little scientific, but I actually love how they broke down their technology!
Clean Ingredients
U Beauty also only uses clean ingredients. While the term “clean” can be different things to different brands, I do love this piece they published breaking down their own standards for ingredients.
Leaping Bunny Certified
All of U Beauty’s products are leaping bunny certified, which means they do not use any animal testing during any stages of product development. This is a certification they must recommit to annually as well as being open to third party audits.
Sustainability Commitment
Tina Craig has been committed to sustainability since the beginning stages of launching U Beauty. As a brand, U Beauty has a zero-waste goal and is constantly improving their sustainability practices. All ingredients used in their products are ethically harvested and are fully traceable, and all raw materials and packaging pass the Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety toxicological analysis.
All U Beauty packing is made using FSC-certified paper and the packaging supplier they use meets the Global Recycled standard. All of their outer packaging is 100% recyclable and their bottles and jars are made from 92.5% post-consumer recycled plastic. They are also currently working on a refill option for their products to make them even more sustainable.
U Beauty also used manufacturing facilities that use 100% green energy and they have a partnership with One Tree Planted. For every product you purchase, they plant one tree.
The Butterfly Mark
U Beauty is also certified with The Butterfly Mark, an industry-leading certification that highlights luxury brands that are dedicated to making a positive impact on the world. Butteryfly Mark brands are vetted comprehensively for their social and environmental accountability, as well as community investment and innovation.
